Rodent Control Certification

Due to the changes in pest control certification and ability to purchased rat poisons, Pest Control Savings now offer two accredited online courses that upon completion will give you the required rodenticide certificate needed for purchasing professional packs of poisons. The awarding body for this training is Lantra.

There are two courses available:
1. Rodent Control on Farms
2. Responsible and Effective Control of Commensal Rodents Certification (for beginners)

Both priced at just £59.95+VAT, completion of either course allows the holder to purchase professional strength and sized rodenticide packs as well as gaining a better understanding in general pest control.

Please note that both courses are online and you will require a suitable computer, laptop or tablet as well as an internet connection.

Rodent Control on Farms Certificate

The Rodent Control on Farms Certificate is approved by the Campaign for Responsible Rodenticide Use (CRRU) Training and Certification
Working Group and is designed to help people plan and carry out rat and mouse control in an agricultural or industrial setting.
The course is intended to provide a full working knowledge of both preventive and curative methods to be able to plan, implement
and monitor a control programme that is appropriate to the situation. Assessing and using the most efficient and safe methods along
with due regard to the environment. By completing the Rodent Control on Farms certificate, you will gain an industry recognised
certificate.
It is the responsibility of anyone carrying out rodent control to be familiar with the relevant legislation concerning the humane and
effective management of rat and mouse problems. Whilst guidance is given during the course on the main legislation and its
relevance to rodent control, it is essential that those engaged in pest control should keep up to date with changes in legislation that
may affect pests or pest control.
Target Audience
Our comprehensive training is for anyone who wishes to control rodents and undertake pest control predominantly in land-based or
related industries. Should have some experience or be aware of rodents and their environments.
Course Description
The training will provide you with an understanding of why it is necessary to control rodents, the biology and behaviour of rodents
and legislation associated with rodent control. You will understand what information is required when carrying out a survey and the
non-chemical methods available to control rodents as well as the current rodenticides and formulations how they work, how to
transport them, safe disposal and the importance of completing documentation.
Once successfully completed and the assessments passed a certificate of training is available for download or print.

Responsible and Effective Control of Commensal Rodents

The Responsible and Effective Control of Commensal Rodents Certification (or RECCR Certificate for short!) is an online exam
designed to teach and test individuals and companies on the safe and correct control of rodents (such as rats and mice).
The rodent control course approved by the Campaign for Responsible Rodenticide Use (CRRU) and is designed to help people plan
and carry out rat and mouse control in agricultural and commercial settings. This course is slightly more in-depth than the Rodent
Control on Farms Course and starts learners earlier in the teaching circle.
The online modules and exam is intended to provide a full working knowledge of both preventive and curative methods to be able to
plan, implement and monitor a pest control programme that is appropriate to the situation. Helping enable the learner to assess and
use the most efficient and safe methods whilst always considering the environment. The course provides an opportunity to gain an
industry recognised certificate.
Target Audience
This training is suitable to anyone new to rodent control or wishing to develop their skills further. The training is for anyone who
wishes to control rodents and undertake pest control predominantly in land-based or related industries.

With the current legislation, all sellers or professional rodenticides will require a copy of either your rodenticide certificate or proof of membership to one of the Farm Assurance. Completing one of our courses will satisfy that requirement.
